Interactive exhibits add a fun and physical dimension to learning. Not limited to the traditional location of a museum, exhibits can be created in open public spaces, community locations such as schools, or even virtually.

Exhibits in a virtual world can be designed and built within a fraction of the time and cost it takes to fabricate them in the real world, and most exhibits can be translated into 'real world' builds. Engaging with virtual exhibits is not limited by opening hours, they are accessable internationally, and the low-cost, quick-build methodology of virtual worlds can allow visitors to build their own response to the exhibit, often with just a few hours training. This relatively easy access invites levels of participation and engagement, even self-teaching and peer teaching that can only enhance regular class work for students, teachers ad parents.

Working predominantly at the site of The Tech Virtual in Second Life 2008 - 2010 we have created a number of stimulating, educational exhibits on the subjects of

Art, Film and Music
The Tech Awards (innovation benefitting humanity)
Microchips

Photos and machinima of these can be seen below. Four of our exhibits are award-winners, with two being built in the real Tech Musuem in San Jose, California.

The real world film at the bottom of this page features Rocoza Designs' Lead Designer Marie Crandell giving a guided tour of The Tech Museum's Virtual Test Zone, at its' opening in California in June 2008.

Art, Film and Music award winners The Painter and This Sounds Fun. The Painter guides the visitor through the development of a painting, while This Sounds Fun allows the visitor to play with some everyday sounds, and test their film FX knowledge with this fun quiz.

The Painter features The Circus, kindly donated to this project by the artist Mrs Robbie Purinton of North Carolina.
